After landing, Pelosi tweeted that US' solidarity with Taiwan is more important today than ever, while China vowed “targeted military actions”. China has issued repeated warnings over Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, saying it would be a provocation and violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Chinese fighter jets and warships have also been deployed near Taiwan to augment the pressure on the US against Pelosi's visit. In response, as many as four US warships, including an aircraft carrier, have been positioned in waters east of Taiwan on “routine deployments”.

As the US Air Force jet carrying Pelosi neared Taipei, capial of Taiwan, Chinese state media said it was crossing the Taiwan strait. According to AFP, the brief report had no details on timing of precise location of the crossing. Pelosi landed in Taiwan on Tuesday night despite several warnings by China.
