The post reposted Trump also questioned Pillay's credibility and said she had “never done a thing to foster peace”.

Earlier, South African jurist Navi Pillay joked about sharing her Nobel Peace Prize with US President Donald Trump as she received applause following the announcement of her award. The 85-year-old made the remark in Nuremberg, Germany, where she was being congratulated after being named this year's Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

"If you clap a little bit more, I may share this prize with Trump," Pillay said in a video shared on X by Amnesty International Secretary General Agnes Callamard. Pillay's remark appeared to refer to Trump's widely known desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize himself.

Post praises Trump's role in peace efforts

The post defended Trump's record, citing the Abraham Accords, efforts to secure the release of hostages and attempts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

“President Trump gave us the Abraham Accords, which the world said would be impossible and is now expanding them!” it said.

It also credited Trump with bringing home hostages “when all seemed hopeless” and said he was making efforts to stop Iran, which the post described as “the number one sponsor of international terrorism”.

The post further claimed that Trump was trying to rebuild Gaza despite efforts by terrorists to control the territory.

“These are the kinds of things the Nobel Peace Prize was intended to recognize and reward!!!” it said.

Navi Pillay wins Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded on Friday to Pillay, a South African judge known for her work in international law. She led the tribunal that investigated the Rwanda genocide and later headed a United Nations commission that accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. Israel strongly rejected the findings.

Pillay is also a judge at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in a case in which Myanmar is accused of genocide. Throughout her career, she has worked to uphold international law and hold those responsible for serious crimes to account.

Jorgen Watne Frydnes, chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo, said Pillay had been "instrumental in ensuring that war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide are prosecuted".
