Flatter one, full and on off, Devdutt Padikkal uses his feet but almost yorks himself and bunts it out to short cover.

Tossed up, full and on the leg stump line, Devdutt Padikkal gets forward to defend but ekes out an inside edge towards square leg.

A loopy delivery, dips in on leg, Devdutt Padikkal clips it to short mid-wicket.

Flighted, full and on middle and leg, Devdutt Padikkal knocks it down the pitch with a straight bat. The siren goes off. Keshara has overstepped here and it is called a No Ball.

Floated, short and around off, turns away, Devdutt Padikkal stays back and stabs it out towards cover.

This is angled in at the sticks, full in length, that is defended solidly off the front foot.

Lovely stuff. Nice loop and drop on this ball by Jayasuriya, around off. Rahul is drawn forward as he tries to smother the spin. It drops on him and spins past the outside edge.

Flighted up, outside off. Padikkal brings out the reverse but does not quite get hold of it. Gets it more off the upper half of the bat and it goes well wide to the left of Dhananjaya de Silva at slip. Single taken.

Stays full, on middle. Rahul steps out and backs away to open up the off side. He firms the drive between cover and mid off, where the latter tidies up to his left. They cross.

Looped up, on off. KL strokes it to cover.

Fractionally short, bowled slower through the air, outside off. Rahul punches it to cover off the back foot.

FOUR! Helped away. Kumara errs in his line as he sprays a full ball on the pads. Padikkal uses the angle and the pace of the ball as he tickles it down to the deep fine leg.

Spears in a full ball, on middle. Devdutt is solid in defence.

Outside off, on a hard length. An easy leave for DDP this time around.

That took off. Superb take by Niroshan Dickwella. An effort ball by Lahiru Kumara as this jags back in a long way. Padikkal leaves it on length as the ball sails over the off stump, and it keeps rising on its way to the keeper. Dickwella leaps acrobatically to his right and gathers it goalkeeper-style.

Hits the deck hard, over off. Padikkal rises with the bounce and steers it to gully.

SIX! In the previous over, it was Devdutt Padikkal who used his feet against Prabath Jayasuriya, and this time, it is KL Rahul. From around the wicket, angled into the right-hander, on middle and leg. Rahul dances down the track and stays beside the line of the ball. He swings through the line and pumps it over mid on for a six.

The length is pulled back and there is a bit of nip back into the right-hander, on off. KL rides the bounce nicely and punches it to the right of deep point for a single.

Bowled by going wide on the crease and attacks the front pad with a full ball. Rahul brings his bat out in front and keeps it out.

At the hips, Padikkal hops and glances it behind to deep fine leg for one.

At 136 kph, on a short of length, on middle. Devdutt wrists it to mid-wicket.

SIX! Excellent use of the feet. Floated up by Jayasuriya, on off. Padikkal shimmies down the track and gets to the pitch of the ball. With a clean swing of the arms, he lofts it with the spin over mid on for half a dozen.

Shorter and around the pads, DDP turns it wide of mid-wicket for a single.

A beauty by Nuwantha. How did that miss the stumps? Drifting in, landing on middle before spinning away. Not that short but Padikkal goes deep in the crease to deal with it. Gets squared up as the ball spins past the outside edge and the bounce takes it over the stumps.

Too full, at the toes. Padikkal clips it to the right of deep square leg for a couple of runs.

OUT! YASHASVI JAISWAL IS RUN OUT! An unfortunate way to lose your wicket. Here's what happened - Flighted delivery, full and around off, Rahul eases it down the ground, towards the right of the bowler, and sets off. Keshara Nuwantha tries to get across to his right and stop it but misses, instead taking down Jaiswal, who was also setting off for a run. Meanwhile, Rahul has already approached the other end to complete the run, and Jaiswal, after recovering from his fall, looks to first run before realising it is all too late. He attempts to turn, but Rahul has already dragged his bat inside the crease at the bowling end. Jaiswal decides to stand there and watch the keeper, Niroshan Dickwella, who collects the throw from Prabath Jayasuriya, then looks at his skipper, Dhananjaya de Silva, at first slip before taking the bails off. That old grey area of sportsmanship, but it seems Dhananjaya has decided to go with the rule rather than the spirit. The umpires also double-check with the Sri Lankan captain, who sticks with his decision, and Jaiswal has to walk back in what can only be described as a contentious dismissal. India are 47/1 now.

FOUR! Put away! Keshara Nuwantha bowls this a bit flatter, full and on middle, drifts in. Yashasvi Jaiswal gets down on one knee and nails the sweeep to the deep square leg fence for a boundary.

A bit of turn! Prabath Jayasuriya gives this one some more air, full and on middle, grips and turns in. Yashasvi Jaiswal prods forward to play at it but misses and gets hit on his body.

Nishan Fernando at short leg puts his head down, but the ball hits him flush on the helmet before deflecting towards short fine. They cross. Fernando looks in some discomfort here, and it's good to see Rahul going up and checking on him.

FOUR! Nicely done! Comes over the wicket, does Kumara and lands this back of a length but angling down the leg side. KL Rahul just has to get some bat on it, and he tickles it away fine, beating fine leg to his right for a boundary.

Uppish again but in the gap! Lahiru Kumara pitches it up and around off, shaping it away. Yashasvi Jaiswal goes for the big drive, but it flies off the outer half of the bat through the vacant point region. The fielder in the deep cuts it out. Just a single.

Falls short! A good-length delivery, just around off, holds its line. Yashasvi Jaiswal pushes at it away from his body and gets an outside edge. However, it drops just in front of the man at gully, who does well to get his body behind to make the stop.

FOUR! Classy! Lahiru Kumara serves this full from around the wicket, on middle, angling into the batter. Yashasvi Jaiswal presents the full face of the bat and drives it gloriously towards the long on fence for a boundary.

Another fuller one, on middle, angling in, KL Rahul leans across a bit and knocks it back to the bowler.

Pitched up and on middle, attacking the stumps, KL Rahul blocks it out with a straight bat down the pitch.

Overthrows! Pitched up and around off, Yashasvi Jaiswal pushes it wide of cover. Dinesh Chandimal dives to his right to make a half-stop as the batters take a single. He gets up and throws at the batter's end, where the keeper is nowhere to be seen, and the batters get an extra run.

Much better from Kumara. Moving away off the seam, on a good length, in line with the off stump. Jaiswal is squared up in defence, and the ball goes behind off the outside edge. It bounces wide of the diving gully fielder. They cross.

FOUR! Easy pickings. At 140.9 kph, too full and too straight as well, on the pads. Jaiswal leans on and clips it to the left of mid on for the second four of the over.

FOUR! Jaiswal flashes and flashes hard. Kumara switches his angle of attack as he comes from over the wicket, tries to bang it in short, but this sits up to be hit. Yashasvi also has the width to work with and he cuts it late, well wide of gully.

Nice and tight, attacking the stumps, a bit fuller this time. Jaiswal gets behind the line to pat it down on the off side.

Steams in from around the wicket, hits the back of a length, on middle. Jaiswal hangs back to defend.

Oh, on any other day that could have so easily gone back onto the stumps. At 139.3 kph, this comes back a bit, on a length, on off. Rahul looks to cover the line of the ball but ekes out an inside edge onto the pads.

Outside off, that is left alone for the keeper to collect.

FOUR! Nicely controlled, and KL Rahul is off the mark. Kumara dishes out the surprise short ball, around off. Rahul gets his hands high and swivels. Rolls his wrists over the ball and pulls it behind square leg for his first boundary.

In the corridor of uncertainty, on the fuller side. Rahul tucks his bat behind the front pad and makes the leave.

Stays full and cranks it up at 140.4 kph, inviting the drive. KL resists the temptation and offers no shot.

FOUR! Jaiswal and India are away. Asitha pitches it up and gets the ball to swing back in at the pads. Jaiswal brings his wrists into play and stays balanced at the crease as he flicks it through mid-wicket. A teaser for the square leg fielder as the ball wins the race.
