We humbly accept the mandate given by the people of Rajasthan. This is an unexpected result for everyone. This defeat shows that we were not completely successful in taking our plans, laws and innovations to the public.

I wish the new government all the best. My advice to him is that despite working hard, we were not successful, it does not mean that he should not work after coming to the government. All the schemes including OPS, Chiranjeevi and the pace of development that we have given to Rajasthan in these five years should be taken forward.

BJP rebel Ashu Singh Surpura, who contested as an independent candidate, stood in the third position with 55,159 votes.

The BJP was cruising to victory in Rajasthan with its candidates winning from 30 seats and leading in 84, while the Congress won from 19 constituencies and was leading in 51, according to Election Commission trends available on Sunday for the assembly polls.

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje won from the Jhalrapatan seat. Among the other BJP candidates who won are Diya Kumari from Vidhyadhnagar, Samaram from Pindwara Abu, Govind Prasad from Manohar Thana, Jaswant Singh Yadav from Behror, Mahendra Pal Meena from Jamwa Ramgarh, Anita Bhadel from Ajmer South and Madan Dilawar from Ramganj Mandi, the EC announced.

The Congress candidates who secured victory include Tikaram Jully from Alwar Rural and Anita Jatav from Hindaun.

The Bharat Adivasi Party registered its first victory in Madhya Pradesh by winning the Sailana seat of Ratlam district.

The party’s Kamleshwar Dodiyar defeated the nearest rival and Congress candidate Harsh Vijay Gehlot in Sailana constituency by a margin of 4,618 votes as per the Election Commission.

This is the first time that the Bharat Adivasi Party, headquartered in Rajasthan, has registered a victory in any election in Madhya Pradesh.

Nationalist Congress Party leader Supriya Sule on Sunday reacted to the latest trends of election results and said the assembly polls will not have any major impact on Lok Sabha polls.

"Lok sabha and Vidhan sabha elections are different. We cannot say that it'll have an impact on Lok Sabha polls. In 2019, Congress won in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh but something else happened in the Lok Sabha polls. It is too early to decide anything. It can't be said that these results were the litmus test for the INDIA bloc," Sule, MP told ANI.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Vasundhara Raje won the Jhalrapatan assembly constituency in Rajasthan, the Election Commission of India announced on Sunday.

Polling on 199 of the 200 assembly seats in the state was held on November 25.

According to the Election Commission's website, Raje won the Jhalrapatan seat by a margin of 53,193 votes.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will hand over his resignation to Governor Kalraj Mishra Sunday evening, sources said, after the assembly poll results showed the BJP was set to return to power in the state.

Sources said Gehlot is slated to meet the governor at 5.30 pm.

he Trinamool Congress on Sunday claimed that the BJP's bright show in assembly polls in three states is more of a "failure" of the Congress than a success story of the saffron party.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Sunday said the BJP would win all of Karnataka's 28 seats in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, after the results of the assembly polls today showed the party taking a significant lead in three of four states, for which counting is underway. Congratulating Prime Minister Natendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda for the imminent victory in Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan assembly polls, Yediyurappa credited them for BJP’s performance.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday said he would not be surprised if some people cry foul and put the blame on EVMs for the assembly polls outcome, as counting was underway in four states.

Speaking to reporters, Pawar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's work was being appreciated by the people.

"I will not be surprised if people from the INDIA alliance start blaming the EVMs (electronic voting machines) for the results," he said.
