All India Trinamool Congress's Nirmal Chandra Mondal won the election upstaging Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Sujoy Mistry by a margin of 20,362 votes.

The top two candidates split 86.5% of votes between them. All India Trinamool Congress's Nirmal Chandra Mondal got a total of 92,313 votes, while Communist Party Of India (Marxist)'s Sujoy Mistry secured 71,951 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Amulya Kumar Naskar secured 12,738 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 48.6%, 37.9% and 6.7% respectively.

In West Bengal Assembly election 2011, All India Trinamool Congress's Nirmal Chandra Mandal defeated Communist Party Of India (MARXIST)'s Bimal Mistry by 18,479 votes.
