Soon, in India, helicopters will ferry patients to hospitals in emergency. A beginning has been made with Delhi-based OSS Air Management, acquiring two AugustaWestland AW-109’s to start the first helicopter ambulance service in Bangalore by mid-2011. “The helicopters will be modified with medical care equipment,” says OSS Air chief executive, V Krishnan.
