Love gives you a head-spin. Literally. Take pop queen Madonna’s latest ‘love update’, for instance. The material girl has taken it upon herself, to help toyboy and model Jesus Luz, realise his musical ambitions.

She has fetched him a deal with record label Warners, and the Brazilian lad’s first single, We Came From Light, will be out by May. But that isn’t a new trend.

Lady musicians have always been benevolent. Pop princess Britney Spears, before ruining her own career, gave her then struggling rapper hubby, Kevin Federline’s career a thrust.

While at the prime of her reign, sources say, the

Toxic

hitmaker exploited her contacts to help Federline put together his album, Play-ing With Fire. It’s a different story that the couple couldn’t keep the fire burning for long.

R&B diva Rihanna’s generosity cost her a lot more. Her relationship with hip-hop newbie, Chris Brown, helped the latter a lot.

While she became a sex symbol after hits such as

‘Umbrella’

,

‘Shut Up’

and

‘Drive’

, the spotlight fell on him, too. But little did the girl know that the boy she was in love with would give her bruises, literally. Guess, love only helps those who don’t go blind.
