Priyanka Chopra says she wouldn't have loved Nick Jonas if he didn't respect her culture: ‘Really important’
Priyanka Chopra highlights the significance of cultural respect in her relationship with Nick Jonas.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have been an inspiration for interracial and intercultural couples around the world. The two often speak about how they have found their biggest cheerleader in each other and how both have accepted and respected each other's cultures.

‘Don't know if I'd love him’
In a recent interaction with E! News, Priyanka spoke about how important it was for her for Nick to accept her culture for the future of their relationship and said that if Nick wasn't respectful towards her culture, they might not have gotten together. When asked about Nick's respect for her Indian culture and traditions, Priyanka said, "I don't know if I'd love him if he didn't. That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural. I think it's really important to have a sense of respect for your partner's roots."
The actor also praised Nick for helping to maintain the spark in their romance. She said, "Being kind to your partner. That's something that's really important."
Priyanka was present at the premiere of the documentary Cycle of Love in New York. She served as an executive producer on the documentary, which tells the real-life love story of K. Mahanandia and Lotta Von Schedvin, who travelled across countries decades ago to be together.
‘You’re the best decision I ever made’
Recently, Priyanka Chopra penned a long, emotional note as Nick Jonas released his new album Sunday Best. In her note, Priyanka called being with Nick the best decision she ever made.
"There aren’t enough words to express myself, but I’ll try. You are what dreams are made of…Find yourself someone who not only loves and respects you but cherishes you like a treasure and isn’t afraid to show it. I’m so grateful that the universe led me to you. You’re the best decision I ever made," she wrote.
The actor also praised Nick's talent. She wrote: "I’m so in awe of your endless talent. You’re the most honest and sincere person I’ve ever known.. and the most beautiful part of it is.. It’s just who you are. You don’t even try. You are the reason I smile every day. Thank you for being mine. These pictures are from our early days, but they still feel like yesterday."
Calling Nick " a secure person", Priyanka wrote, "I’m so proud of this album. You bared your soul in every note and every lyric. It takes a really secure person to be able to reach down so deep and share it with the world. I love you endlessly. Do yourself a favour. Grab the one you love and listen from the beginning. This is how love should be. #SundayBest out now."
