Michelle Trachtenberg’s last Instagram post before her death has been revealed. The Gossip Girl star died aged 39, having gone into cardiac arrest in her New York City apartment. She was found “unconscious and unresponsive” by police and later pronounced dead by EMS workers, the NYPD confirmed, according to the New York Post.

Trachtenberg's final Instagram post was a throwback photo shared on February 18. The close-up shot showed the actress on the red carpet. “I wanted to look like naughty #tinkerbell #throwback,” the Gossip Girl star captioned the image.
Days before that, Trachtenberg posted her last selfie. She shared a photo of herself wearing a blue sweater with a tiger on it, a silver necklace and black eyeliner. Perched on top of her head were a pair of sunglasses.
“Eye of the Tiger,” Trachtenberg captioned the image.
At the time, fans complimented her eyes in the comment section. “Will never stop complimenting your eyes. gorgeous as per usual Michelle!” one user wrote. Another said, “Idk, I kinda love this shot of her! her eyes are so pretty.” “You only get prettier,” one user wrote.
Many also expressed their wish to see Trachtenberg in the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. “Can’t wait to see you in the Buffy revival!!!!!!!!! Sending you light and blessings!!!!” one user commented. Another said, “Hey Michelle I'm s huge fan of you, can't wait to see you in the Buffy reboot. I've missed you and I love you so much.” One said, “I'm sending you hugs for Valentine. Hope that you will be in the Buffy reboot.”
Trachtenberg recently underwent a liver transplant, Page Six reported. A source told People that she was “struggling” both mentally and physically in the year before she died, and had been “really down emotionally” while battling undisclosed “health issues.”
“She told friends she was struggling,” the source told the outlet. “She was really, really sick and open with those in her circle about how much she was struggling.”
