PF scam: Report on Asthana’s death submitted

A judicial inquiring into the mysterious death of Rs 7 crore Ghaziabad Provident-Fund (PF) scam prime accused Ashutosh Asthana has submitted its report to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court on 20th October last year had ordered a judicial-inquiry into Asthana's death.

He had died under mysterious circumstances at Dasna District Jail on 17th October. After the PF-scam was unearthed, Asthana had allegedly named several judicial officers and senior judges as the alleged beneficiaries of the siphoned-off amount.

"We have completed the report within stipulated time and submitted the 'sealed' report to the Supreme Court. Its contents are not known," District Judge V.C. Gupta said.
