St Joseph?s students excel

ST JOSEPH?S Co-Ed School students excelled in the All India Funakoshi Karate Championship held in Mumbai recently. Around 1,200 students from seven states of the country and also from the neighbouring countries took part in the karate championship.

ST JOSEPH’S Co-Ed School students excelled in the All India Funakoshi Karate Championship held in Mumbai recently. Around 1,200 students from seven states of the country and also from the neighbouring countries took part in the karate championship.

A 27-member team from Bhopal, including three students from St Joseph’s Co-Ed School also took part in various events like kumite, kata and team kata at the karate championship. Anudh Dhaka, a Class VII student of St Joseph’s Co-Ed School, won the gold medal in 10-11 years category in kumite.

Amaan Hussain of Class XI won the silver medal in 16-17 years category in kumite, while Raj Sharan, also a student of Class XI, won the bronze medal in the 14-15 years category in kumite.

School Principal Fr Maria Stephen, manager Fr Abraham, headmistress Sr Mercy, coordinator Sr Julie and the staff members of the school have congratulated the students and karate instructor Inayat ur-Rehman for winning laurels for the school.
