One person was killed today and another injured after a 30-year-old man rammed his car into a scooter in South Mumbai and subsequently into another four wheeler in Malabar Hill in Mumbai, under the influence of alcohol, police said.

The incident took place at Marine Drive in the wee hours when Sushil Rajendra Kothari (30), who is in construction business, was driving his Ford Ikon on his way home to Walkeshwar and rammed it into a scooter killing the rider," Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) Chhering Dorje said.
While the motorist- Habib Zulfikar Qureshi- was killed on the spot, the pillion rider recieved minor injuries and is presently undergoing treatment at J J hospital, police said.
Kothari was arrested following the mishap.
"Even after ramming into the scooter, the accused did not stop and sped away towards Malabar Hill where he dashed into another car. He was arrested from there," Dorje said.
According to the medical report, Kothari was under the influence of alcohol, Dorje said adding he has been booked for culpable homicide and rash and negligent driving.
