846 challans issued for littering at Central Vista: NDMC data

Apart from the fines, the enforcement department has also seized hundreds of vending goods like ice boxes, ice-cream trolley, counters and utensils etc from street vendors, a second NDMC official said.

New Parliament may help MPs work remotely with tech upgrades

Central Vista: Bids invited for tunnel to connect V-P, PM houses

The 200m subterranean tunnel will cost ₹21.3 crore. The development of the ₹206 crore Vice President’s Enclave started earlier this year and is expected to be ready by January.

Crowds swell at India Gate as Delhi returns to its favourite weekend hang-out

After 19 months, India Gate was a viable weekend hang-out spot for residents of the national capital, who turned up in hordes at the iconic monument and the revamped Kartavya Path on Saturday, with crowds peaking in the evening, as visitors thronged the area for a glimpse of a drone show and the new statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Barricades, metal detectors and traffic curbs at ‘new India Gate’

The measures, authorities said, will continue for at least a couple of days more and a final call on their continuation will be taken later. Though fewer people visited the Vista lawns during the day, hundreds turned up in the evening to watch the the cultural events that was planned by the Centre.

Police said the area received a floating crowd of 8,000-10,000 during the day, which increased to 15,000 in the evening. Police officials said the area received a footfall of 1 lakh visitors over the course of the day.

Watch: 250 drones dazzle in air at India Gate to celebrate Netaji's legacy

The show started around 8.35 pm and lasted for 10 minutes. People tried to capture the moments on their mobile phone cameras, some moved around while many lay on the lawns to enjoy it.

Central Vista opening ceremony: Traffic hurdles, but Delhi was prepared

Delhi traffic police officers said 500 traffic police personnel were deployed in the area to manage traffic in and around India Gate. All 10 roads leading to the C-Hexagon were barricaded to divert vehicles towards alternative routes prescribed for motorists.

Roads leading to Kartavya Path may soon get Vista-like revamp treatment

The New Delhi Municipal Council, which oversees the New Delhi district, is set to spruce up eight stretches in the general vicinity of the intersection: Tilak Marg, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Pandara Road, Tolstoy Marg, Hailey Road, Tansen Marg and Babar Road.

Central Vista: From King’s Durbar to people’s avenue

The avenue continued to be the centre of political and administrative power after Independence, even as it was renamed Rajpath, from Kingsway. The lawns and fountains along the stretch also became one of the most popular public spaces in the Capital.

PM Modi to throw open new Central Vista Avenue today

The ceremony will begin at 7pm, when the PM will unveil the statue and inaugurate the revamped Vista avenue. The entire stretch is lined with lush lawns, 16.5km of red granite walkways, refurbished canals, repaired and polished facades, public amenities, special vending zones and improved signages.

Revamped Central Vista in Delhi to open on September 8

Executive Enclave under Central Vista that will house the new Prime Minister's Office and the Cabinet Secretariat is yet receive nod by the Delhi State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA).

Central Vista revamp: Design of ‘iconic structure’ in Delhi yet to get nod

Originally proposed to be completed by August 15 this year to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence, the structure is to be 134m tall, and is being planned to “realise the grand vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat”, said the Central Public Works Department’s design brief.
