Districts in Jharkhand have been divided into two categories and in 15 of the 24 districts witnessing lesser cases, all shops will be open. In the remaining nine districts which are witnessing a high number of deaths, shops other than clothes, jewelry, and shoes have been allowed.

India records 127,510 new Covid-19 cases, lowest in nearly two months

The overall scenario depicts a declining trend in the number of new Covid-19 cases daily, with recoveries continuing to outnumber the single-day rise for nearly three weeks now. This is also the first time in 36 days that India's daily Covid-19 death toll has fallen below the 3,000-mark.

'Corona curfew' extended in many districts across Madhya Pradesh

In the state capital Bhopal, the coronavirus-induced curfew has been extended till 6 am on May 24, while in the industrial hub of Indore, it will remain in force till May 29 night, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Dr Rajesh Rajora said.

In a tweet, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said that the lockdown, which was to end on May 15, will now be in effect for 10 more days starting May 16. Kumar also said that it was observed that the lockdown had a 'positive' impact on the state's Covid-19 situation.
