Bihar cabinet approves 111 new urban bodies, 5 more municipal corporations

The exercise would also lead to creation of five more municipal corporations in the state. Currently, there are 12 municipal corporations in Bihar, which includes Chapra that was accorded the status of a municipal corporation in 2016.

In Bihar, Purnia range IG dies of Covid-19, death toll close to 1,000-mark

With 1,152 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, the total cases in the state rose to 2,04,212, while with six deaths, the death toll rose to 996—four short of the 1,000 mark. The highest number of 316 cases was reported from Patna.
The bulletin said in the past 24 hours 1,079 patients recovered in Bihar while 1,19,456 tests were conducted in the same period. Till now the health department has conducted 91,34,927 tests in the state.(HT PHOTO.)

Bihar’s Covid-19 recovery rate inches closer to 92% as state logs 1,527 new cases

Patna topped with a cumulative case burden of 27,256 and 203 deaths, followed by Muzaffarpur 8,127 cases and 32 deaths, Bhagalpur 7,277 cases and 62 deaths, East Champaran 6,439 cases and 36 deaths, Begusarai 6,249 cases and 25 deaths among others.
