'Remdesivir was distributed from BJP office to save lives': Gujarat MLA to HC

BJP MLA Harsh Sanghavi defended himself against charges of illegally distributing Remdesivir and said the antiviral drug was distributed with the "sole intention of compassion and humanity."

DGHS issues Covid-19 guidelines: Masks not recommended for children aged under 5

The new Covid-19 guidelines issued by the DGHS also recommend against using the antiviral drug Remdesivir in children below 18 years of age, as well as a "rational use" of HRCT imaging among children in this age group.

“There is lack of sufficient safety and efficacy data with respect to Remdesivir in children below 18 years of age,” according to the guidelines.

Covid: Centre stops allocation of Remdesivir to states as supply crunch resolves

To address shortages and prevent black-marketing of various drugs used in the treatment of Covid-19, the government had stepped in to allocate these to states as cases of the infection shot up in the second wave.

18,040 oxygen concentrators, 7.7 lakh remdesivir vials sent to states: Centre

Cumulatively, 18,040 oxygen concentrators, 19,085 oxygen cylinders, 19 oxygen generation plants, 15,256 ventilators and BiPAP, around 7.7 lakh remdesivir vials and nearly 12 lakh favipiravir tablets have been delivered and dispatched through road and air from April 27 to May 28.

Karnataka implements Remdesivir allocation, information system to check misuse

"In order to bring transparency in the allocation of Remdesivir a tech-driven system has been developed and now the patient will get a SMS informing which hospital is provided the medicine against the SRF ID," Health Minister K Sudhakar said on Sunday.

Karnataka warns pharma majors of legal action for not supplying Remdesivir

In a notice to the pharmaceutical companies Cipla and Jubilant, the Principal Secretary in the Revenue department N Manjunatha Prasad said they were ordered to deliver 62,000 vials of Remdesivir injection, but they supplied very less consignment.
