A Kerala nun Lucy Kalapura is fighting her convent claiming she is being hounded for joining protests calling for the arrest of former Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mullakkal who is facing rape charges. The convent authorities have denied the allegations.
Sister Kalappura said legally the congregation could not ask her to leave the convent since she has filed the appeal challenging it’s decision.(HT image)

Three brothers and two other men claimed in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in St. Paul that the Church has kept secret the identities and records of more than 3,400 clergy accused of sexual abuse, including some top church officials.
