Burbank Walnut Fire: Map and evacuation updates as blaze burns near Wildwood Canyon Road
The Walnut Fire broke out near Harvard Road and Wildwood Canyon Road in Burbank
Update 6:53pm EDT: The Walnut Fire has grown to around 20 acres and is spreading at a moderate pace through medium to heavy brush, as per Watch Duty. Officials say the fire could grow to as much as 50 acres within the next hour.
A helicopter crew at the scene reported that the fire is moving downhill toward structures in the area.
Incident Command is now asking for one more helicopter, as per local news reports.

Additionally, Angeles National Forest shared on X that their firefighters are also assisting the Burbank Fire Department with the brush fire.
Initial story: A wildfire has been reported in the area of E Harvard Rd and Wildwood Canyon Rd in Burbank, California, according to Watch Duty. The blaze has been named the Walnut Fire. The fire broke out at around 3:30pm local time Saturday on the 1500 block of East Walnut Avenue, as per NBC.
The cause of fire is still unknown.

Evacuation orders issued
The City of Burbank confirmed that fire crews are responding to the blaze with help from regional partners.
The evacuation orders have been issued for the DeBell Restaurant and Golf Course and the Stough Canyon Nature Center.
They wrote on X that, “Burbank Fire is aware of a vegetation fire in Wildwood Canyon and is actively responding with assistance from regional partners. Evacuation orders are in place for DeBell Restaurant and Golf Course and Stough Canyon Nature Center. Hiking trails closed until further notice”
Starlight Bowl concert cancelled
The City of Burbank also informed that starlight bowl concert is now cancelled. they wrote, “The Starlight Bowl concert scheduled for August 8 has been cancelled.”
