A motorcycle bomb exploded today in an area of Kabul close to government ministries, the Afghan parliament and offices run by foreign companies, the interior ministry said.

A motorcycle bomb exploded on Wednesday in an area of Kabul close to government ministries, the Afghan parliament and offices run by foreign companies, the interior ministry said.

"There was an explosion in Se-rahi Alawdin (west Kabul). It was an motorcycle explosion. At this stage we don't know what the target of the attack was," an interior ministry spokesman said.

There was no immediate information on casualties, he said.
