Family of man who died after SpiceJet turbulence says waiting for aid

On May 1, Akbar Ansari, a resident of Jharkhand’s Giridih district, was among 17 people – 14 passengers and three members of the cabin crew – injured after flight SG945, which took off from Mumbai, encountered severe turbulence during its descent at West Bengal’s Durgapur airport.

Indian Railways plans on fencing tracks to avoid cattle run over incidents

The move comes after several instances came to light where the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express hit cattle on its 525-km journey, killing animals and the trains getting damaged

Centre increases levy on airlines under regional connectivity scheme

Currently, the levy is ₹5,000 per departure and the amount will further go up to ₹10,000 per departure from January 1 to March 31, 2023 and further increase to ₹15,000 from April 2023 till April 2027.

Foreign tourist arrivals in January-August this year close to 50% of pre-pandemic level

RCS-Udan completes 6 years; at least 10.6 million people travelled by air

Launched in 2016, the UDAN scheme aims to fulfil the aspirations of the common man with advanced aviation infrastructure and air connectivity in Category II and III cities. The airports under UDAN also include eight heliports and two water aerodromes.

50% cap on SpiceJet flights lifted

The airline’s services were capped at half its approved schedule after a string of air safety incidents in the summer, when the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) also put the carrier under enhanced surveillance comprising audits and safety checks.

DGCA steps up SpiceJet fleet scrutiny after smoke in cabin

New Vande Bharat train on Gandhinagar-Mumbai route to be flagged off by PM Modi

This will be the third Vande Bharat train in the country. The other two run between New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Katra.
