Yashasvi Jaiswal’s journey with the Indian national team continues to evolve. After impressing in Test cricket and T20Is with his attacking approach, he finally made his ODI debut on February 6, 2025, against England in Nagpur. Though the innings yielded only 15 runs, it marked the beginning of what fans hope will be a long and fruitful ODI career. However, Jaiswal was left out of the Champions Trophy squad later that year, a tournament India went on to win.

Despite the setback, selectors and fans remain optimistic about his all-format future. His adaptability across formats, aggressive mindset, and composure under pressure have already drawn comparisons to modern-day greats. With India constantly rotating players in white-ball formats, opportunities for Jaiswal to break through again are likely just around the corner.

Jaiswal’s backstory remains one of the most inspirational in Indian cricket. Hailing from Uttar Pradesh and moving to Mumbai as a young teenager, he survived on minimal resources, even selling pani puri to support his dream of becoming a cricketer. His life changed when coach Jwala Singh took him under his wing, providing both mentorship and shelter.

Since then, Jaiswal has repaid the faith shown in him through performances in domestic cricket, the IPL and on the international stage.
