A day before foundation stone laying function was to be held at Siddharth Nagar for a road under bridge, the pedestal built for it was vandalised by anti-social elements.
Municipal Corporation of Delhi, which is organising a function on Sunday for this, has sent a complaint to the SHO of Sunlight Colony Police Station that the pedestal for it, built by the civic agency, has been destroyed by 'anti-social elements'.
A complaint against unknown persons has been filed. Vice-chairperson of New Delhi Municipal Council Tajdar Babbar will lay the foundation stone of the RUB. Mayor Prithvi Raj Sawhney will be the chief guest of the function.
The complaint sent by office of the Executive Engineer (MCD City Zone) has sought adequate security. "Several dignitaries are expected to attend the function Since, we apprehend trouble from anti-social elements, adequate arrangement may be made," stated the letter by the MCD to the police.
