PM asks for report card from ministers

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked all the ministers in his cabinet to submit a 'performance report' on Friday. Carrying a deadline of November 30 for submission, the reports would be monitored by the PM himself.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked all the ministers in his cabinet to submit a 'performance report' on Friday. Carrying a deadline of November 30 for submission, the reports would be monitored by the PM himself.

A letter written by Cabinet Secretary KM Chandrashekhar conveyed the PM's request to all the ministries. The letter stated each one of them will have to submit a performance report for the PM to have a close check on each minister.

There have been varied reactions to this initiative of the PM with most ministers welcoming this move.
