Bomb hoax calls in educational institutions trigger panic
A bomb hoax call triggered panic in the Nithyananda polytechnic institute and adjacent school premises here today as authorities carried out intense checks after evacuating the students of the institutions.

A bomb hoax call triggered panic in the Nithyananda polytechnic institute and adjacent school premises here today as authorities carried out intense checks after evacuating the students of the institutions.
On receiving two anonimous calls warning that a bomb planted at the Polytechnic Institute would go off at 1100 hours, bomb and dog squads carried out intense searches in the premises but did not recover any explosive substance, police said.
The search was also carried out in the adjacent English Medium High School after evacuating the students. The calls were received at 8.35 am and 8.40 am in the office of the Polytechnic Institute, they said.
