STATE INDUSTRIES Minister Babulal Gaur has discussed the possibilities of Tata Consultancy Services joining hands for their offshore development centre for exports in the Crystal IT Park at Indore – a state-of-the-art IT facility being developed by MPAKVN (Indore)

An official spokesman said here today that this discussion was held in Mumbai where Government of Madhya Pradesh showcased its IT-related infrastructure opportunities at the ‘Nasscom leadership forum’. Gaur met global leaders from the information technology industry on the occasion and presented the opportunities available in Madhya Pradesh.

He had a one-to-one meeting with Tata Consultancy Services chief executive officer Ramadorai, who is also the present chairman of Nasscom.

In interaction with Wipro chief Azim Premji, Gaur invited Wipro to start a software development centre in Madhya Pradesh. Premji promised to send a team to explore the possibilities in this regard.

Gaur also met Genpact senior vice-president Mohit Thukral with his delegation and apprised him of the tremendous possibilities Madhya Pradesh holds for BPO/KPO companies when they start business operations sites there.

Government of Madhya Pradesh has been actively projecting the infrastructure and other development initiatives that have aggressively been taken in the State over the past few years to meet the requirements of the IT, ITES and BPO industry at the NASSCOM summit in Mumbai.

The delegation from MP to this summit comprises Principal Secretary Department of Industry O P Rawat, MPSIDC Managing Director Raghav Chandra and MPAKVN Managing Director Ashish Shrivastava. MPAKVN has also sponsored the ‘Networking Lunch’ in the summit to be held tomorrow along with setting up an attractive stall at the venue prominently displaying a model of the Crystal IT Park and a promotional film to brand Indore as an IT hub.

Further meetings with BPO and IT industry majors, as also with other industry bigwigs who intend to invest in the Special Economic Zone of Indore and other areas of Madhya Pradesh, are also being held.
