The woman, a native of Andhra Pradesh, sustained two fractured legs and a fractured right heel after she jumped out of the window of her apartment in a bid to escape pursuing police.

Police broke into the second-floor apartment as they tried to arrest the woman who was with a Bahraini man. "She is currently recuperating at Salmaniya Medical Complex and underwent surgery on her right leg yesterday and on her left leg last week," the 'Gulf Daily News' said.

The 35-year-old mother of two came to Bahrain three years ago and was employed as a housemaid for a Bahraini family, but also worked in a prostitution ring, the paper said.
