Hasan Ali sent to judicial custody

A Mumbai court on Friday remanded Hasan Ali Khan, allegedly the country's top tax evader, to judicial custody till April 8.

Pune businessman Hasan Ali Khan, who is accused of tax evasion and money laundering, was sent to judicial custody till April 8 by a sessions court, on Friday, after the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) counsel Ujjwal Nikam stated the agency did not need his custody at the moment.

Khan’s lawyer IP Bagadia, however, said outside court that Khan had received threats. “After the arrest of Kashinath Tapuriah, Khan has received threats from Tapuriah and his associates,” said Bagadia.
