MSRTC kicks off bus depot redevelopment

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has started plans to redevelop bus depots in Mumbai, beginning with the Borivali depot at a cost of ?515 crore. The MSRTC will retain the ground and first three floors of a 16-storey building, while the remaining floors will be given to the developer. The corporation also plans to develop the Panvel depot and monetise the land for commercial purposes. The MSRTC has a fleet of 14,000 buses and serves over 55 lakh passengers daily.

109 remanded in judicial custody after protest near Pawar’s house

On Friday, the Gamdevi police arrested 110 protesters, including 23 women and advocate Sadavarte, for rioting outside Pawar’s residence. All were sent to judicial custody.
