UP Budget 2024-25: Crime control, law & order continue to be govt’s priorities

1524 CCTV cameras to secure Navi Mumbai by October end

The long-delayed CCTV project in Navi Mumbai is finally nearing completion, with the installation of 1,524 cameras set to be finished by the end of October. The project, which was initially scheduled to be completed in November 2022, has faced multiple delays. The cameras will be connected to an integrated command and control center and will have a storage capacity of 30 days. Additional cameras will be installed based on inputs from the police department. The contract for the current cameras has been undertaken by Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. at a cost of ₹127.63 crore.
