Delhi reported 39 new cases of dengue on Monday, taking the total number of people affected with the mosquito-borne disease to 1,211.

Of these 11 persons belonged to areas outside Delhi. Two children have succumbed to the disease in the city so far this year.
South Delhi has been the worst affected, with 457 dengue cases having been reported so far this season followed by North Delhi Municipal Corporation that reported 400 cases.
East Delhi Municipal Corporation reported 299 cases and the NDMC areas have reported 27 cases.
Most cases have been reported in the month of October as the disease peaks around this time.
Six people have also been infected with chikungunya in the city, of which only one had traveled outside Delhi.
