Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Friday said boxer Vijender Kumar's historic feat of winning a bronze in Beijing Olympics will inspire the youth of the country to excel in sports.

Congratulating Vijender for bringing the first ever Olympic bronze in boxing for the country, Chatterjee said the Haryana boxer has left a trail behind for the youth to follow.

"The success achieved by Vijender Kumar and Sushil Kumar will go a long way in inspiring the youth and children across the country, particularly the hidden talents in rural India." Chatterjee said in a statement.
