NEET UG 2026 fee refund portal activated; Check steps to raise claim, last date to apply

The NTA said that candidates may upload a cancelled cheque “if they so desire” to ensure the accuracy of their bank details, though the step is not mandatory.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated a dedicated portal for NEET UG 2026 candidates to submit their bank account details for the refund of examination fees.

The agency said the facility is now available on the NEET-UG registration portal and will remain active till May 27, 2026, at 11:50 pm.

In an official notice, the NTA said eligible candidates must log in using their credentials and access the refund link to complete the process. The agency added that candidates should carefully fill in the required details as the information submitted will be treated as final.

The move comes weeks after the NEET UG 2026 examination was cancelled following allegations of a coordinated paper leak, triggering protests by students and parents and prompting multiple investigations, including a CBI probe.

Sharing the update on X, the NTA also clarified that candidates may upload a cancelled cheque “if they so desire” to ensure the accuracy of their bank details, though the step is not mandatory.

Candidates have also been advised against initiating any chargeback requests for the NEET UG 2026 examination fee.

How to access the NEET UG refund portal

According to the NTA, candidates can follow these steps to complete the refund process:

  • Visit the NEET UG 2026 registration portal
  • Log in using application credentials
  • Click on the “refund link” available on the dashboard
  • Submit preferred bank account details
  • Upload a cancelled cheque, if required
  • Review details carefully before final submission

The NTA said, “The facility for submission of bank account details shall remain live from 22 May 2026 to 27 May 2026 (up to 11:50 pm).”

NEET UG 2026 ‘paper leak’

The NEET UG 2026 controversy escalated after allegations of irregularities and paper leaks surfaced following the May 3 examination, which was conducted across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. More than 22 lakh candidates had appeared for the test.

Amid mounting protests and political attacks over the alleged leak, the examination was cancelled on May 12. Multiple agencies, including the CBI, are currently probing the matter.
