Security tightened in Chamba along Jammu and Kashmir border

Security tightened in Himachal's Chamba district bordering Jammu and Kashmir after recent militant attacks; increased vigilance and patrolling to prevent infiltration.

J&K Police Security Wing during a search operation at Narwal area to trace out terrorists involved in recent attacks in Jammu district on Thursday. Chamba district, which adjoins the Kathua and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir, shares over 200 km of border with the UT. The mountainous terrain makes it easy for militants to infiltrate, necessitating heightened security measures. There are around 15 outposts on Chamba-J&K border guarded by the battalion force of Himachal Police. (ANI)

Himachal to set up two solar power projects in Pangi valley

Himurja has selected one hectare of land for each solar power project at Hillaur and Dharwas of Pangi valley. Himachal chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has instructed Himurja to complete the construction work of both solar power projects in Pangi valley at the earliest.

Avalanche warning in five districts of Himachal Pradesh

The Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority on Wednesday issued an avalanche warning for five districts in the state. Avalanches may occur in Kullu, Shimla, Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur and Chamba districts between 5pm on January 15 and 5pm on January 16, an official of said.
