Fuel prices hiked for 10th day in a row; petrol to cost Rs 76.73, diesel Rs 75.19 in Delhi

The price of petrol was increased by 47 paise a litre on Monday while that of diesel by 57 paise a litre in Delhi. Petrol and diesel will now cost Rs 76.73/litre and Rs 75.19/litre respectively in the national capital.

Petrol price up by Rs 1.67 per litre, diesel by Rs 7.10 a litre in Delhi

In Delhi, petrol will now cost Rs 71.26 a litre as against Rs 69.59 per litre on Monday, and diesel prices went up to Rs 69.29 a litre as against Rs 62.29.

Nagaland levies Covid-19 cess of Rs 5 per litre for diesel and Rs 6 for petrol and motor spirit

On April 21, Assam too had hiked the price of petrol from Rs 71.61 to Rs 77.46 per litre and that of diesel from Rs 65.07 to Rs 70.50 per litre.

India gets BS-VI petrol, diesel across country without any additional cost to consumers

As per the commitment, the three public sector companies – Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) have fully transitioned to BS-VI compliant petrol and diesel across the country, an IOC spokesperson said.

The nationwide lockdown that has shut businesses, suspended flights, stopped trains and brought almost entire vehicular movement to a halt, has impacted fuel demand with petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) showing negative growth (degrowth or fall in demand).

Government opens door to raise excise duties on petrol, diesel

According to the amendment proposed by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday with reference to the Finance Act, 2018, the additional excise duty limit for both petrol and diesel has been raised to Rs 18 per litre, two government officials said on condition of anonymity.

Taxes make up half of retail fuel prices: Data

The total of taxes on diesel add up to about 46% at Rs 28.06 per litre, and the total of other cost components is Rs 34.52 a litre, showed the data on fuel price components released after the Centre raised excise duties on the two fuels by Rs 3 on Saturday.

Centre hikes duty on fuel; opposition calls it ‘anti-people’

Petrol, diesel, liquor to cost more in Karnataka as Yediyurappa govt hikes taxes

Karnataka Chief minister B S Yediyurappa announced tax on petrol would be increased from 32 per cent to 35 per cent and diesel from 21 per cent to 24 per cent. He also increased the excise duty on Indian Made Liquor (KML) across 18 slabs by six per cent.

Petrol price up 6 paise, diesel by 7 paise on Sunday
