Shamita Shetty was born in Mumbai. She made her debut with the film, Mohabbatein in 2000 directed by Aditya Chopra, for which she earned the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female. She gave a hit dance number, Sharara Sharara from her film, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and Mind Blowing Mahiya from Cash in 2007. She found success as an actor with her first solo hit Zeher for which she was nominated for the Stardust Award as Star of the Year Female. She was the third runner-up on Bigg Boss 15. She is the sister of actor Shilpa Shetty.
