The offer comes 10 days before FASTags, which entail radio frequency identification (RFID) stickers being affixed on the windscreens of vehicles, become compulsory for motorists on national highways.

FASTag on Agra-Lucknow expressway from December 1

Nitin Gadkari launched the ‘one nation one tag’ campaign from Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi. Objective of ‘one nation one tag’ is digital and problem free toll collection. Now, FASTag will be compulsory on Agra- Lucknow Expressway.

FASTag to be available at petrol pumps: Nitin Gadkari

Launching bank-neutral FASTags issued by IHMCL, Gadkari said these will be available at 50 select petrol pumps initially and the number would be increased to 100 by the next financial year.
From about 3,133 FASTag units being sold in May 2016, the number went up to 178,266 in December 2016. The fees collected rose from Rs 71 lakh in May 2016 to ₹47.02 crore in December 2016.(HT File Photo)
