Pong Dam on the Beas received an all-time high inflow of 7.3 lakh cusecs of water on Monday, resulting in the level in the reservoir crossing the permissible limit of 1,390 feet following which the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) opened floodgates, inundating villages in Indora and Fatehpur sub divisions

Three killed as road caves in after landslide in Himachal’s Rampur Bushahr

Heavy rainfall-induced landslides in Himachal Pradesh have claimed three lives, as a car plunged into a gorge due to a road cave-in. Rescue operations were carried out by police, fire department, and locals. In a separate incident, 55 people were rescued from Kangra villages as the water level in the Beas river rose.

Snow cuts off Lahaul-Spiti, floods block many highways in Himachal

Hundreds of roads including several national highways have been blocked due to landslides across the state. The tourist town of Manali has been cut off from district headquarters Kullu and rest of the state after an overflowing Beas river submerged roads on either side of the river after torrential rain during the last 24 hours.
