Haryana: 4 varsity students booked on gang-rape charges

In her complaint to the police, the student said that she was waiting for a vehicle outside the university in Jind on December 12 when her classmate, who is a resident of Bhaklana village in Hisar, came there and offered her a lift.

Five held for supplying drugs to students at Noida, Greater Noida universities

The arrests came over a month after nine others including four students of the private university were held over same charges

Telangana varsity suspends 80 students for ‘pressuring’ juniors to sing, dance

PU syndicate nod to create additional seat for transgenders in all courses

PU syndicate has approved the creation of one additional seat for transgender students from 2024-25 session onwards in each course in the Panjab University Teaching Departments Regional Centres. This was approved by the members at the meeting held on Saturday. This will make PU among the first universities of the country to offer seats for transgender students this way.

IIT Madras & Tel Aviv researchers develop aerogel adsorbent to remove pollutants

According to IIT Madras, this graphene-modified silica aerogel removes over 76 per cent of trace pollutants (PPM level) in continuous flow conditions.

The research team developed a silica aerogel modified with graphene. They employed a method called 'supercritical fluid deposition' to prepare these modified aerogels and studied their effectiveness.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has promised to conduct a caste-based census and establish a university in the name of social reformer Sant Ravidas if the party wins the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. Kharge accused the BJP-led Centre of trying to change the Constitution and criticized the ruling party for only remembering Ravidas during elections. He also made several promises to the people of Madhya Pradesh, including a farm loan waiver and concessions in electricity bills.

Agra university blacklists firm previously hired to hold exams

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Agra has blacklisted a Lucknow-based firm after its owner was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case. The firm, Digitext Technologies, had been conducting exams at the university. The investigation revealed that answer sheets of some students had been manipulated.

The recent move came after the firm’s (Digitext Technologies) owner was recently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case registered in cognisance of a FIR lodged against the company for allegedly manipulating answer sheets of candidates in exchange for money.
