Man reversing car mows down 23-year-old in Indirapuram

Police said the car was being driven in reverse gear and the driver suddenly backed the car up. The victim was cleaning the aforementioned vehicle and was crushed between it and an adjoining wall.

Faulty ammunition proves lethal, 70 accidents on average every year since 2013-14

Accidents caused by faulty ammunition made in ordnance factories have seen an abnormal rise in the last few years and one of the main anti-aircraft guns, L-70 , is largely inactive due to unserviceable ammunition, according to a senior defence ministry official.

The police said the complainant, the driver of Wagon R said the SUV, which was coming at a high speed from the opposite direction, jumped a divider and hit his car, which flipped over. The victim, who was severely injured, was declared dead on arrival in hospital.

Amritsar train accident Updates: Railway admin had no information about Dussehra event, says minister

At least 61 people were killed as a train ran over revellers watching Dussehra celebrations in Punjab’s Amritsar, police said.The incident took place around 6:45 pm at Dhobi Ghat near Jaura Phatak railway crossing. A crowd of around 300 people was watching Ravan effigies being burnt when the passenger train hit the people standing on the track, about 200 feet away, said senior police officer Lakhbir Singh.Here are the updates:
