Winter-like chill grips Himachal as day temperature stays 10-20°C below normal

Himachal Pradesh experienced winter-like chill in peak summers with day temperatures staying 10 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius below normal as relentless rains lash the hill state on Wednesday. The sky remained overcast throughout the state and strong winds accompanied by heavy rains swept across the region.

Himachal: IMD issues yellow alert for three days

Himachal experiences below-normal temperatures with snowfall in higher reaches, while plains remain clear. Inclement weather expected to persist for next 3 days. Yellow alert issued for thunderstorm and lightning in 10 districts. More than 2 dozen roads blocked and over 70 transformers yet to be restored. Keylong records lowest temperature at minus 4.1 degrees Celsius.

Fresh Covid cases drop to 56 in Himachal amid low sampling

Among the new Covid cases in Himachal, the highest 15 were reported from Kangra, 11 from Mandi, eight from Chamba, five each from Sirmaur and Solan

Himachal logs 440 fresh Covid cases, one death

The highest 172 Covid cases in Himachal were reported from Kangra followed by 61 from Mandi and 51 from Hamirpur. Thirty-six cases were reported from Shimla, 33 from Bilaspur, 24 from Una, 17 from Sirmaur, 15 from Solan, 13 each from Chamba and Kullu and five from Kinnaur.

Himachal to collaborate with Centre to promote lavender cultivation

With the climatic conditions of several regions in Himachal, including Chamba, being similar to those of J&K, the state government aims at replicating the success of this initiative in Himachal Pradesh in a big way.
