A Division Fusion: City’s love for Hanuman to echo in pandal mirroring Gujarat’s Kashtabhanjan Temple

The Naveen Shardiya Utsav Durga Puja Committee in Lucknow is recreating the Kashtabhanjan Hanuman Temple in Gujarat for its Durga Puja pandal this year. The pandal, constructed using 1,800 bamboo poles, will be 60 feet tall and cost ₹8 lakh. The celebrations will begin on October 19th with 'Anando Mela' and the puja will start on October 20th. The pandal will host various events and competitions, including Kanya Puja and a conch-blowing competition. Khichdi Bhog will also be distributed to around 1,500 people per day.

The temple was removed early Sunday morning following court orders for the Chandni Chowk redevelopment work--- which involves a plan to decongested and pedestrianise the heritage market along the 1.5-km road between Red Fort and Fatehpuri Masjid -- being executed by Shahjahanbad Redevelopment Corporation.

As several right-wing organisations have given a call for protests at the temple site in Chandni Chowk on Tuesday, senior police officers said Delhi Police and paramilitary personnel will be deployed in the neighbourhood to maintain law and order.(Representational)

Traffic diverted, areas cordoned off, searches on after bomb scare in Jaipur

Traffic was diverted in parts of Jaipur and areas were cordoned off after an unidentified caller told the police control room that bombs had been planted at three locations in the city — Hanuman Temple in Chandpole, Sanganeri Gate and Jaipur airport.
