Man gets 20-year jail term for raping Class 7 student

A fast-track court in Fatehabad on Monday sentenced a man for 20 years in jail for raping and sexually harassing a Class 7 girl student last year. Fast-track court special judge Sunil Jindal convicted Surender for 20 years and imposed a fine of ₹65,000 on him.

U.P. govt focuses on prisoners’ skill training to help them after jail term

The Uttar Pradesh government is providing skill training to prisoners in various trades under the Prime Minister's skill development program to help them reintegrate into society. In the last year, 8,160 prisoners received training in about 60 trades, including computer software, carpentry, and beautician work. Training is being imparted in various district jails across the state.
