Remote-controlled machines to aid Delhi’s firefighting efforts

Officials said the two camera-mounted automated firefighting vehicles, which can spray 2,400 litres of water per minute, were bought from Austria at a cost of 3.5 crore each, adding that more such machines will be inducted into the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) based on the fire dousing performance of the two.

Magisterial probe into Mundka fire to be completed within 6 weeks

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, who visited the site on Saturday, announced that a magisterial inquiry will be ordered and compensation of 10 lakh will be given to the families of the victims while the injured will be given 50,000.

Delhi Govt may give nod to home delivery of liquor in the Capital

According to documents seen by HT, the excise department has put up several proposals for the consideration of the cabinet for the policy’s 2022-23 iteration.
The government on February 28 this year discontinued discounts offered by stores due to overcrowding and violations of Covid-related guidelines. Later, on April 2, it permitted liquor stores to offer up to a maximum of 25% discount on MRP.

All adults in Delhi to get free booster shots: Govt

A senior health department official said the decision was taken since the Delhi government wants all adults to have access to free doses, which the Union government offers only to those aged 60 and above.

With caseload low, Delhi govt packs up two Covid care centres

On Sunday, Delhi reported 249 fresh Covid cases at a positivity rate of 0.59%. Over 99% of the 10,642 beds in dedicated Covid hospitals and 99.9% of 2,123 beds in Covid care centres were lying vacant as on Sunday.

With Covid curve flat in Delhi, norm breach fines dip

The Delhi government report, a copy of which Hindustan Times has seen, said that on January 8, authorities fined 5,073 people a total amount of 1,02,52,500, whereas the collective fine amount came down to just 383,600 (imposed on 604 people) on March 2.

Wearing masks in private cars not mandatory in Delhi: DDMA

Other Covid-19 curbs such as night curfew, restrictions on standing passengers in public transport, and 50% seating cap in restaurants and bars will be removed from Monday, the DDMA said in an order on Saturday.

No quarantine for international passengers arriving in Delhi

Passengers found to be symptomatic during screening will be immediately isolated and taken to a medical facility. If they test positive, their contacts will also be identified and tested, an official said. If travellers test positive for Covid-19, their samples would be sent for genome sequencing.
