Om Birla unveils a new tech to help patients with myopia

A new technology called SILK has been unveiled in New Delhi, India, which allows people with myopia to achieve clear vision without glasses or lenses. The procedure, which involves the creation and removal of a tiny lens within the cornea, was launched at the annual conference of the Intraocular Implant & Refractive Society of India. The advancement in vision-improvement technology is expected to have a positive impact on the economic growth of the country, according to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The prevalence of myopia in India is expected to increase to 31.89% by 2030.
